On June 15, 2011, the strategy was officially presented to the Corporate Services Committee which recommended to County Council that the plan be adopted.  At the County Council meeting held on June 28, 2011 the attached plan was formally adopted by County Council.

Economic Development Office

The County of Simcoe’s economic development office is responsible for the attraction, retention and expansion of businesses and business opportunities within Simcoe County. The economic development office works with our sixteen Simcoe County municipalities, the Cities of Barrie and Orillia and with other business service providers to help businesses thrive and grow.

The County of Simcoe’s economic development office promotes Simcoe County to the world by communicating with national and international business leaders and economic development officials within our provincial and federal levels of governments by showcasing the benefits of our region as a location for new investment.  The office compiles and maintains relevant economic data and community statistics to assist in business decision making process.
